I could always paint — I just never thought of it as anything special. A couple of pieces in my late teens, early twenties, then nothing. It sat dormant.
Then COVID hit. The world locked down, and suddenly I had more time — and more to process — than I knew what to do with. Art became my therapy. My father reminded me I still had the easel he'd given me in college, twenty years earlier, sitting untouched. So I started painting. And I kept painting. Two hundred pieces later, here we are.
Painting became my peace. My peace became my paintings. My paintings became my passion. My passion became my life.
Everything below was made in that stretch — 2020 to 2023, acrylic on canvas, one lockdown at a time. Funny how locking down our bodies ended up freeing our souls.
